Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why is total points scored still not on the win-loss records anymore? Is total points scored used in determining record or playoff status?
Pass the word, NO! The points scorred are NOT used to determine the standings only the number of Conference games won! See by-law 13.2.2 and 15.0.0. The points scored and points allowed are not posted anymore because coaches were still running-up the score. It was thought that because the points were tallyed they were used in the rankings. To avoid confusion the columns were removed. Note the bottom of the table "*Only Conference games are used in ranking."
Why do I only have 3 home games this year, I had 3 home games last year. Isn't it my turn to have 4 home games?
Not all teams stay the same from season to season. It is impossible to be sure that each team gets 3 home games one year and 4 the next.
Why do I only have 2 home games this year?
You must be from one of the few cities that don't have enough fields. If your franchise has more than 10 teams and only one playing field, it was not possible to schedule each team with 3 home games. Here is the math. 7 weeks, 5 games per field per week equals 35 home games. 35 divided by 3 is 11 and 2/3. Therefore, if your franchise has over 12 teams it is mathematically impossible for all the teams to have 3 home games.
I have two boys on two different teams. Most weeks I can't see both of them play. Can't the schedule be arranged so they both play at home or away at the same field?
Sorry, but no. The constraints on the fields and referees make it difficult to even get all the teams 3 home games. Two teams from the same franchise may not even have the same opponents.
How come I don't play the same teams every year?
The conferences (North, South, East, West) are arranged every year according to the number of teams. Each franchise is assigned a conference, then teams are moved to balance the number of teams in each conference. This is also done so Franchises with multiple teams don't have to play each other in a conference game.
I have a Bye this week, isn't there someone I can play?
No. In every division that has an even number of teams, every team plays every week. In divisions where the total number of teams is odd, there is one and only one Bye each week. Consider yourself one of the "chosen" few.
