With dreams of having their own program in the city of South Weber, the community rallied around local organizers to see it to fruition. Naysayers said there would be no way to field teams given the small community, and statistics showed they would have 50-60 players on the high end.

In October of 2008, they set out to prove the naysayers wrong. Through a grassroots effort of fund raising and awareness, the Knights raised over $25,000 with $1900 from city funds. The majority of the fund raising did not come from corporate sponsorships, but through the efforts of future football players, parents, grandparents, and community members by auctions, dinners, and various door-to-door fund raising endeavors.

The South Weber Knights fielded 5 teams: Jr. Mites, Mitey Mites, Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, and Midget in their first year and have 113 active roster players.

We welcome the Knights to the WFFL and wish them the best in building their program.
