The Forum is Full of Conversation!

October 20, 2009

If you haven’t checked the WFFL forum out…you should!  Great discussions on all kinds of topics like Mini Bowl winners, last week’s games, OBL and other rules!  And Forum poster’s like Fuball, Silent Hunter and dlep keep the conversations going and some offer great statistical MBC (Mini Bowl Championships) polls and predictions. (Very BCS-like) It’s great! All we’re missing now is a Coach’s Poll! Check it out! :-)

Our Kaysville Football program has experienced a 50-year tradition of excellence.  Not only influenced by Davis High School, but also by our tremendous volunteer coaching staffs.  Their quality time and unselfish dedication has always been the essence in providing solid training and preparation for our players. This 2009 season we obtained an all-time high of 144 coaches guiding 24 teams.  We attribute the growth and success over the years to their positive attitudes, good sportsmanship and fundamentally sound knowledge of the game.

Our Kaysville Parks & Recreation staff salute and thank our fantastic coaches, players and families.

Week Two: Video Highlight of the Week

Great hit that proves the lowest man wins in football. Tight end runs a counter and emerges from the line of scrimmage, only to be driven back by someone half his size.

Our Newest Association – South Weber Knights

August 26, 2009

IMG_0639

Picture 81The newest association to join the WFFL, the South Weber Knights, is the association of the week. With dreams of having their own program in the city of South Weber, the community rallied around local organizers to see it to fruition. Naysayers said there would be no way to field teams given the small community, and statistics showed they would have 50-60 players on the high end.

In October of 2008, they set out to prove the naysayers wrong. Through a grassroots effort of fund raising and awareness, the Knights raised over $25,000 with $1900 from city funds. The majority of the fund raising did not come from corporate sponsorships, but through the efforts of future football players, parents, grandparents, and community members by auctions, dinners, and various door-to-door fund raising endeavors.

The South Weber Knights fielded 5 teams: Jr. Mites, Mitey Mites, Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, and Midget in their first year and have 113 active roster players.

We welcome the Knights to the WFFL and wish them the best in building their program.
